First I want to say I've been using zorin 6.4 LTS for a while now without a single hicup, thanks for a stable easy to use product! I want to install now on an old IBM laptop since the other guys OS is starting to crumble. I was just wondering if any of you had installed a LTS version on a thinkpad and if it worked easily or do I need some drivers or anything. The PC's I've installed zorin on it did all the lifting for me and I didn't have to do much more than click yes, it has recognized all hardware except an old ball type mouse that I've thown at it

Hi,

it should work no problem but....., I would try your Zorin disk first!, if it doesn't work, you may have to go with Zorin Lite!. Thinkpads are a tad old now, Zorin Lite would most likely work better!. :D

Which model of Thinkpad is it?. :D

thanks wolfman, I expected no less and was just making sure before starting. I have Zorin running on a desktop with the same ram and just slightly faster processor and it runs fine for all I use it for

Also you should consider migrating to Zorin 9 in view of embedded security issue on glibc:

Before you do jump, make sure that glibc is equal or greater than 2.18.

In a terminal enter:

Code:
ldd --version
