[SOLVED] desktop shortcut

I may have overlooked something here, but I cannot find out how to create a shortcut to a folder on the desktop.

I have tried creating a launcher, but that always wants a file to open, I have also scoured the available help pages

I want to view the contents of a folder, just as the Home icon does - help please!!
