[MOVED] Wired internet connection issues

New to Linux, be warned.

I installed OS-10 Ultimate on my PC and cannot connect to the internet, wired to my router. I changed the IPv4 to link local and the same with Ipv6 and the system states established connection but I cannot browse or connect to zornos.com etc. No updates or anything.

This is a dual boot setup with Windows 7 (Web works fine on it). I have a small PC (wireless connection, Zorin also) next to me and I am using it to write this msg so I am at a loss here. Can someone throw me a rope?

Please in future post in 'Help & Support'! A bit more information on your ethernet card would be useful. In the meantime what results do you get when posting the following in a terminal? (Ctrl+ Alt+ T):

Code:
ifconfig -a

This will list all your network connections - when posting back DON'T include HWAddresses (hexadecimal code) - unless you want to be hacked! ;) :D
