LXpanel Directory menu plugin

My understanding regarding this plugin is that I can customize it to whatever directory I want to access from the LXPanel 0.6.1. All I get is my Home directory even if I specify another one in the preferences. What am I doing wrong? Is there a bug with this version of LXPanel. Is there a way to upgrade to the latest version?

What version of Zorin Lite are you running?
