Suddenly lost all networking

I have been using Zorin 9 for a while now but all of a sudden the networking is no longer working and the icon has disappeared from the system tray. I tried using Ethernet as well but with no success. So what's going on, this seems to happen after a recent series of updates. Has this happened to anyone else?
