OK, try the Zorin Software Centre and search for Java and Icedtea for Java - it should be version 8 - or search for Java in Menu | System Tools | Administration | Synaptic Package Manager. ;) :D

OK, so I just look at for Java in the system centre and also for IcedTea for Java and the Java was version 7 not 8. Should I install the IcedTea web control panel? I also look into the Synaptic Package manager for Java and It did say it was version 7, same as the system centre.

My bad - the old one might have been six and current 7 - if that is the case then 7 is likely to be the current version for the version of Zorin you have installed.

Hi, glad you got sorted friend. As for the terminal I tend to use basic commands that most users need to know - advanced stuff is for coders (and people having the time to learn). I just got myself conversant with using 'shell' on Amiga when I got distracted with my first PC and lost the skill! ;) :D
