black screen

Hi, after fresh install on compaq laptop i am getting a black screen at random times. the laptop screen turns off. I suspend by closing lid then open. It starts back up in a locked screen that is not like the screen i know. left side black box and guest session under. i enter my pwd and it blinks a few times makes a sound and goes back to this same screen.

I am stuck. please help.

intel core 2 duo
single boot
no partition
ran zorin live, was ok

ok, its after i visit the google webstore in chromium web browser. happened few times, same result.

the issue is the ghostery plugin on google play. when i go there the screen goes black...

i followed the directions and logged in and as soon as i went to ghostery on google play https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... niij?hl=en it goes black and i cant login... so what's on that page that breaks my screen?

Couldn't say - I only (have to not choice) go there on Android Phone - If I could I wouldn't use Google period! ;) :D

ok, so are you saying chrome is not a good browser for zorin? still doesn't explain this issue.

I would try Firefox or Opera 12.16 from here http://www.opera.com/download/guide/?os ... 16&local=y

I just tried to go to that site with firefox and got same result. So how do i report this to zorin os? how do i find out the driver i have installed and the graphic card?

Hi, open a terminal (Ctrl+ Alt+ T) and enter:

and report back output
