Installing Opera

I have installed Linux Zorin Core x64 on my Acer Aspire x1300 with a 320 GB HD.

When I would try to use Firefox the browser would lock up and not move to another page. So I installed Opera and received the message Opera was installed. No Icon, nothing. I finally found Opera under browsers and it was installed but I cannot find a way to use the browser. So what do I do so that I can use Opera browser. Thanks.

Hi, I would firstly remove what you have installed by opening a terminal (Menu | Accessories | Terminal) and enter:

Code:
sudo apt-get purge opera
- you will be asked for your login password so you can be elevated to 'root' (administrator) - note you will not see any asterisks to indicate your password so be careful! You get three attempts if you make a mistake on your password.

Next I would go to the Official Opera site and download the 12.16 package (.deb) from there:

oops - seems they are no longer providing 12.16 so here it is:
