Problem connecting to Internet after new install zorin os 11

Hi there.
Just installed zorin 11 ultimate. I connected to wifi during install and it worked for the duration of the install.

Once the install had finished and I'd rebooted, it will connect to my wifi but it won't load any pages etc. (Internet is fine on other devices)

I'm sure it's something simple that I'm doing wrong so any pointers would be much appreciated

Thanks
Niall

Hi, Can you connect to the internet via another method to begin with? If you can, launch Synaptic Package Manager - just type 'synaptic' in the Windows 7-like menu to find it, open it - you will need to provide your login password to elevate you to 'root' (bit like 'Run as Administrator' in that other OS) and in the 'quick filter' box (near top at middle of window that opens) enter 'ndiswrapper' - check mark for installation any items not checked, then click on 'Apply'.

Keep us posted! ;) :D

Hi thanks for the reply.

It wouldn't download anything there either

I do apologise for being so clueless about this

Did you "connect to the internet via another method to begin with?" as Swarfendor437 said?
Via an Ethernet cable for example?

Does ping work? in terminal, do test
ping 208.67.222.222

if it does and you get responses
/etc$ ping 208.67.222.222
PING 208.67.222.222 (208.67.222.222) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 208.67.222.222: icmp_seq=1 ttl=56 time=16.3 ms

i'd do/try resolv.conf removal
sudo rm /etc/resolv.conf
sudo ln -s /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf
sudo resolvconf -u

The ping test comes back network is unreachable. I'll try to get Internet by other means today and doing swarfendor's suggestion

Update;

I connected to the Internet via tethering off my phone.

I downloaded the nd is wrapper source package. And then reconnected to my wifi. Still no internet unfortunately.

Do you think that because it worked on my phones Mobile hotspot, it must be a something in the router settings?

personally I never use pinging, I usually try 'curl https://www.bing.com'

Curl is more detailed on the errors and will even show errors for certificate problems, etc.

Hi James.

I've just tried your suggestion. The response is ' (6) could not resolve host: www.bing.com
