[SOLVED] Monitor turning off when watching films

I do apologize if this has come up before but I have used many search terms on the board and have found nothing that is relevant.
I am using Zorin 9 light as my main OS on my descktop now as sick to death of windows updates that seem to disable hardware at a regular rate these days.
Anyway I am really pleased with Zorin and have replaced win 7 completely, everything works and I have had no problems with the switch, one little niggle is that the monitor goes black with no RGB input displayed if there is no mouse or pointer movement after 20 or so minutes, operating the mouse wheel brings the picture back.
I have gone into settings and adjusted the available times to max but still no difference, as I said not a really big problem but if I forget you can guarantee it goes black at a crucial part of a film if I forget to nudge the mouse occasionally.

Hi, Zorin 9 Lite is based on Lubuntu 14.04 and I found this:

and this:

Please advise which solution worked best for you. ;) :D
