Where did the time go?

I'm running Zorin 11, 64-bit. Every once in a while (and I'm not sure what triggers it) but the time and the icons for the sound, network, bluetooth, etc "disappear" from the panel. It's like that section of the panel becomes animated and suddenly these icons begin to slowly disappear to the right off of the edge of the panel. I have to restart to get them back. Thing is, I don't know what's causing them to disappear in the first place. I don't think it's anything I'm doing (not intentionally, anyway). Is it a bug :?:

if that happens you can right click awn and go to settings then under applets kick out the system indicator applet and then replace it again

By name it is 'indicator-3' applet. ;)
