Tray icons go missing after logging in

Just installed Zorin OS 9 Core on a Dell 1501 laptop. Everything seems to run fine but strangely when I log in all the applet icons on the taskbar disappear except for the En icon and sometimes the network icon. Battery, speaker, clock and gear icons all disappear leaving just the gray background. I noticed that if I simply change the panel behavior under the preferences to Intellihide once the panel hides itself and then reappears all the applets return, until the next time I log off or shutdown. It almost seems to be a rendering issue with the active applets. Tried changing panel themes but doesn't matter what theme I switch to. Any idea what could be causing this?

Hi, I think it is a bug in ZorinMenu. You could modify the panel which I have given advice on elsewhere on the forum.
