Left Side of Zorin Menu Empty

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this question. I am new to Zorin and new to this message board. I have installed the 32-bit version of Zorin 9 on a PC. After attempting to add a working desktop shortcut for a Wine Windows program, I somehow wiped out the entire left side of my Zorin Menu. The right side is still intact (Links to Home folder, Documents, Pictures, etc), but the left side that had program shortcuts is blank. I believe I caused this when I right-clicked on the Zorin Menu and chose "Edit". At first I was able to get the items back by clicking "Back" on the lower left hand side (the only option available). Upon reboot, clicking on "Back" no longer worked. I figured I could just edit ti again to fix it, but now when I right-click on the Menu and select Edit nothing happens.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, for reference due to the nature of wine it is not possible to create shortcuts other than the existing wine shortcuts such as Wine Programs, Browse C:/ Drive.

The Menu is called Zorin Menu - I would try the following but NO GUARANTEES!

Open Synaptic Package Manager by opening a terminal (Ctrl+ Alt+ T) and enter:

Code:
sudo synaptic
- you will be asked for your login password to elevate you to 'root' (administrator) - you will not see any asterisks/dots as you type so be careful!

Once in synaptic, use the filter near the top/middle and enter 'Zorin' - mark all of them for re-installation, then select 'Apply' on the menu bar at the top. After completion, in the terminal that you entered the command to open synaptic enter:

Code:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Say yes to any prompts.

After completing this, close all open windows and re-boot your machine, crossing everything! ;) :D

Keep us posted!

Hi, Just a thought, maybe worth trying this. Similar to the 'indicator 3' missing icons on the right hand side of the panel (task bar). Might 'refresh' the menu and only take a minute to do.

Right click the panel and choose Preferences, click on Applets at the top, from the "Active Applets" at the bottom drag the Zorin menu up into the "Available Applets" section and then drag it back down again (might need to scoll down to find it).
