Hi, I ran in live mode today (64-bit Ultimate) and it picked up wifi instantly because I was using a dongle on desktop pc (not this one). I noticed that it wanted to keep asking me for a 'keyring' password (this is a 'Wallet' type thing which I always ignore) it wan't that was it? ;) :D

Also check you have not got Caps Lock on if no Caps in password - also make sure spacebar not hit accidentally at start.

Have you also tried going through the 'System Settings' | 'Networking' ? ;) :D
