Hi all,

Another friend has moved from Windoze10 to the fabulous Zorin os on his HP 15-af163sa.

First we loaded Zorin 9 but no wifi so we tried 12 with the same result I tried what Madvinigar suggested here but still no joy…

From what I understand, this is a common issue in Ubuntu based distributions. It involved downloading the driver for your WIFI adapter, in order to get your WIFI to work. While your waiting on Swarf to answer you with details, you can stop on by youtube to lookup a possible solution to this issue.

Hi, thank you for a prompt reply's.

Yes I did find that page but this comment highlights exactly what I would be doing...
"NEVER ram your OS with different drivers or modules haphazardly until your problem gets fixed, at least not without a) Knowing what / why you are doing, and b) MOST IMPORTANTLY How to undo the same.

For clarity the HP is currently running Zorin 12 (Ubuntu 16.04)

As you appear to have a Broadcom chipset, please read through this article carefully:

Okay. I don't have any Kernel driver I have "Kernel modules: bcma, wl" and I cant seem to find if that's an important difference or not and if I have read correctly I believe I have to install something from here.

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bc ... m-0ubuntu8

There are 3 download links 2 of which are text and the other wont trigger the software centre to install, at a loss of what to do to be honest!

OK, have seen others using Ubuntu 16.04 using very old software, WICD.

Hi, I installed WICD but it was not seeing any signals which was probably something minor but I had spent too much time that I don’t have on this computer already so I bought a USB wifi dongle which worked as soon as I plugged it in.

Thank you all for your continued support.
