Hello,

Im trying to disable Boot menu Grup, ive found how to do that over here:https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2
But im not able to execute:
sudo update-grup
or
sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

commands. No idea why, ive tried to google they advice to reinstall by : sudo apt-get install grub-pc
By i have already latest version...so not sure what else i should try :(

Any advice?

Ok np ;)

So as i have only one OS on my laptop i dont need the Boot Menu (grup) to show up each time i start my laptop.

So ive found how to change the occurrence , timer etc. But after i do necessary changed i need to run : sudo update-grup
this command updates grup.org , which shouldnt be edited just updated via "update-grup" command.

But when i type it in the terminal i get: update-grup:command not found

---
More clear now? :)

BTW: ive tried also "StarUp-manager" but as i start it ask me for pass , the some loading window with: performing pre-configuration tasks , after it dissapears and app is not started :( just not working at all

yeah but "sudo update-grub" is not working for me on fresh Zorin 5.2 install.
Do i need to reinstall to fix it? with this: http://www.ubuntugeek.com/boot-repair-s ... blems.html

Why is not working directly even when is included in Zorin OS?

Thanks

You should have 4 main files installed:

boot-repair
boot-repair-common
boot-repair-ubuntu
clean-ubiquity-common

make sure you have all those installed!!. Also right click each file and see if there are any other files they may need!!.

Sorry man u got me wrong ;) Boot-repair is working fine i fixed all what i needed.

My question is why is "sudo update-grup" not working after the fresh Zorin Os 5.2 install, is it some bug or so?

Thanks

Hi,

I cannot really say as I am not having any problems, try changing your sources download location and then run a normal scan for updates and see if it updates "Grub2" also!!!.
