Hi again. :)
I have newly installed Zorin on my SSD. I also have a mechanal HD but find that I can't write to it because I am, apparently, "not the owner"...! :/
So I looked around the forums, found someone with much the same problem and was led to this link:-
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Insta ... wHardDrive
So I followed the instructions as best as I could but am no further forward.
Can anyone help, please?

HI, do you have Windows on the other Drive? If so you need to put Windows on the SSD and GNU/Linux on the Mechanical Drive - period! :!:

Nope, there's nothing on the mechanical drive.
I used GParted to create a single partition but it's that the one I can't write to.

I, basically, installed the Zorin OS on the SSD (from a DVD) and left the mechanical HD blank with just a single ext4 partition on it.
There is, really, nothing else on the computer at all.
All USB devices (flash drives, external drives and the like) work but on the mechanical HD I can't write anything.
In the Properties, under the Permissions tab it says, Owner: root Group: root ..and has the message, "You are not the owner, so you cannot change these permissions."
Any ideas?
