I wish to check my broadband speed on my Zorin 12 machine, which is behaving sluggishly on the internet for a high spec unit.
I have found this:
"Linspeed is a lightweight open source gui based tool to test Internet download/upload speed directly from your linux computer's desktop."
Is this any good or are there better alternatives? - I do want a GUI, for simplicity.

I will try your suggestion - thanks Swarf.
Would have preferred a GUI - too much Windows prior experience, I guess!
I thought that Linspeed was a front end GUI for speedtest-cli.
Does anyone know if this is the case?
If it is I might try Linspeed.

I can't see any reference to speedtest-cli - I think it is totally separate but no documentation could I find to confirm or otherwise:

For information, Linspeed worked a treat - 53 Mps down, 11 Mps up - so just what BT promised.
A plain little GUI, but it does what it says on the tin.
