Netgear WNA1000M USB Dongle will not connect Zorin 12.1 Ulti

I have Zorin 12.1 Ultimate. Fresh install. WNA1000M USB Dongle (Netgear) is my network connection (which works in Windows 10 with no problems). I have no ethernet to connect to, so I have to download everything via Windows, and then reboot into Zorin, as there is no way of connecting right now.

As for the connection itself, the light comes on the dongle, Zorin sees it and when I try to connect to it, it sees my network (WPA encryption), when I try to connect to it, it attempts to, and then just locks up as well.

Any help would greatly be appreciated, and as I am a complete noob, please please explain it to me like I'm a 3 year old.

Thank you ahead of time,

Thanks, but no go on any of those. Tried them all. Also, after failing with all of that, I installed my Zorin 11 Ultimate, and it works with no problem on the same adapter, but the newer Zorin does not. Thank you ahead of time for any help.

OK, in Zorin 11 open Synaptic Package Manager and look for all packages of WiFi by searching for 'wifi' or wireless in the search filter. There is supposed to be a way of downloading packages for later installation but can't remember process.

OK, as I stated in first OP, "Any help would greatly be appreciated, and as I am a complete noob, please please explain it to me like I'm a 3 year old.", and unfortunately I mean that.

I have NO idea what language you are speaking talking 'Synaptic Package Manager' much less how to open, search it or download it. If you or anyone else can help with that in detailed steps and again, 1) I have not way of getting internet directly to the Zorin 12 until wifi is enable, so I have to download on one to install on another, and 2) I AM A COMPLETE NOOB TO ANYTHING LINUX.

Thanks.

OK, Try installing virtual box in Windows to install a Zorin virtual machine using VirtualBox:

https://linus.nci.nih.gov/bdge/installUbuntu.html - how to create Ubuntu (Zorin) vm

How to download packages to vm to use for your install (look at the first answer with 5 votes):

To get Synaptic Package Manager in Zorin 12 you have to install it from 'Software' on right side of menu.

As your chipset in the dongle is realtek/ralink these MIGHT work - no guarantees - all the packages from the one highlighted and below it:

If it doesn't work, all I can suggest is:
