Screen resolution problem

I'm using Zorin 9 Lite on an old Dell 4550 that previously ran Win XP Pro. The default resolution of 1920x1080 ran fine in XP but keeps poping in and out to 1024x768 and back in Zorin. I've been able to fix it using the commands below, but need a permanent solution.

jacatone@Dell4550:~$ xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1024 x 768, maximum 4096 x 4096
VGA-0 connected 1024x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 477mm x 268mm
1920x1080 60.0 +

Hi, sorry friend but Zorin 9 Lite support ended in April this year. Lubuntu forks only run 3 years tops.

I thought this was an LTS distro? I'm still able to get updates.

Oops, my bad - it should run out in April 2019 according to Lubuntu website - think it was the first Lubuntu to go beyond 3 years. Will do some searching.
