Hello there,

For the forum in Belgium i have a client who has the following problem:

He has Zorin OS 9 Core
When he starts the Firefox webbrowser everything is well but after a while the buttons minimize, maximize and close disappear.

How can we have the buttons back?
Or what could be the problem?

Well, Zorin 9 is no longer supported. It was a great OS, but it might be time to consider upgrading. Safety and functionality can not be assured with an outdated system. Why not tell your friend to give Zorin 12 a try? They can start with Core, or wait a bit until Zorin Lite comes out (It's in beta now). Lite would be recommended for older systems. or anyone who wants less resource drain. And of course there's always Ultimate if they want all the bells and whistles.

Zorin 9 IS supported 'til 2019. If not installed already, ask friend to install 'gnome-tweak-tool' and then:

Hi dear Swarfendor437,

I believe there is a difference for using tweak tool in Zorin OS 9.1 Core and Zorin OS 12.1 Core, because in Zorin OS 9.1 Core tweak tool don't showing us the option titlebar buttons.
On the other hand in Zorin OS 12.1 the tweak tool give full options.

OK, if Compiz is installed, uncheck Window decorations and then re-check - this worked for me in the past - and it wasn't just Firefox but all Windows. ;) :D

Well, I stand corrected again. I could have sworn that you told me that 9 Lite was no longer supported a ways back, when I mentioned I was running it recently on the live DVD. Oh well, it doesn't matter. I must get my facts straight before I attempt to help out. Sorry again!
