Zorin 12 Ultimate: Sudden shutdown from normal operation

I have had this happen enough times now to report it.

I am working normally and then the screen goes suddenly blank black. Joggling my mouse brings it back and then it goes again - into a lid down type suspend.

The workaround is to close the lid for a few seconds and then restart the session by opening the lid.

Any fixes, I wonder? - mine is a six month old laptop which seems mechanically perfect.

Nearest I could find is this?:

Have you got nvidia drivers on your Kratos?

Also looking at a similar thread bur regards Windows and different Notebooks, do you get the same issue when you attach an external monitor?

I never did use the NVIDIA drivers on my Kratos laptop - having heard of the problems that can ensue.

Everything was working well until the last software update (the link was not of use, but thanks anyway). Perhaps the next software update will sort it!

HEY HO - at least I have a workaround!
