Folks, kindly share what you use to record streaming video.

Latest, always updated Zorin Core.

Thank you!

Now that I am running 12 I use the Gnome shell extension:

https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/ ... creencast/

For capturing streaming video I use VLC - can't do a screen shot as still on hols.

Sure, "maybe". Thank you for sharing. I was for the feedback from Zorin 12 users ;-)

OK, so don't know if you still need a reply but first off had to drop using 'gnome-screenshot' as it was not capturing Menus when trying to capture so had to use Shutter for the following:

VLC media player_001.jpg

Open Media_002.jpg

Workspace 1_004.jpg

Workspace 1_005.jpg

Just to add that veoh.com won't allow you to use VLC to download content but other sites that stream video should work - veoh is a pain as:

1. You need to download their download app;

2. Only works in Windows! :x

See my updated thread here:

I am guessing you are referring to gnome-screencast for recording what is on your screen? It's an alternative to Kazam and integrates into the Gnome Shell Extensions nicely! ;) :D
