Not sure how well Zorin 12 Core should be running

Hello everyone, new here.
I just tested out Zorin 12 Core from a CD, and it's pretty slow. If it was installed on a hard drive, would it be faster?

It's a dell Optiplex GX260. I know, its an older computer, but it's in great shape and still ran XP fine. It has 2GB of RAM, and a 1.80 GHz Pentium 4.
I'd thought that maybe trying a different OS would be a good idea.

It surpassed the requirements for the core version; is it possible that the lite version is more suitable? I don't need it to be blazing fast, but right now from the CD it's very choppy.

Thanks!

Zorin will always run slow on a DVD as it is having to read the disc and copy to RAM so it is bound to be slow! ;) :D

Okay, thanks.
Do you think 2 GB of ram should be enough for the core version?

If you have a USB drive and can boot from it, should run faster than a DVD/CD.
Lite would run better, can you download and test it for yourself?
Minimum RAM for core is 1GB so 2GB 'should' be enough!

Although your specs are good enough for core I would recommend trying the Lite version.
I have some newer and some older hardware and Lite runs much better on the older lower spec stuff while looking about as good as the core version.
Core can be sluggish even on decent hardware IMHO.
