I tried to install Unity3D under Ubuntu, at first it did not work out, then I guessed to install MonoDeveloped and then Unity started, but just silently stopped working soon.
I'm not very good at Linux, I see it as an intermediate step to Macintosh. But if it does, I can stay forever at Linux. So it will be much cheaper, than buying a Macintosh.
Has anyone installed Unity on Zorin? I read this - https://forum.unity.com/threads/unity-o ... es.350256/ - but I did not understand much, except that the Unity installer is not smart enough to install all the libraries it needs. Maybe that's why it b*******d even in Ubuntu, the only distribution they've blessed.
Can not you just do it as easy as in Windows? I will be grateful if someone tells me how to proceed. I'm already "playing" the second day with Linux, and my working is stopped. I'm already thinking about installing Windows 7 (was installed Windows 10 - abomination and muck) and suffering, until I save some money for the Macintosh.
I used to try Linux for the sake of curiosity, and now I tried Ubuntu, basically I like it, it's very simple and understandable, more smoothly than in Windows 10, which rustles HDD, even when I do nothing. But as soon as I go beyond the narrow scope of tasks that can be solved using standard distribution tools, everything ceases to be understandable. I know that Linux is very flexible, but I do not know how to use this flexibility. Yes, I do not need, by and large I need Linux as a launcher for one program.
