SSD's and TRIM

I'm new to Linux in general and new to Zorin OS (trying it out and liking it so far) and I am wondering how most Linux distros, and Zorin in particular, handle SSD TRIM. Is there anything we users need to be doing or do most distros deal with TRIM natively?

I just installed Zorin OS on an Intel NUC and have both a 256GB Western Digital PCIe NVMe drive (root) and a 500GB Samsung 2.5" sata SSD (home and swap). Do I need to be doing anything in particular to ensure the best case scenario health and longevity of those drives? Or does Linux (Zorin in this case) take care of that automatically?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The only other thing to add is that you should format to Ext2 as journaling Ext3 / Ext4 will commit more writing to SSD and effectively reduce the life of the drive but I am not sure to what degree. ;)
