Issue with Zorin and Mount of SMB shares

Hi

I have Zorin 12.3 installed and joined to my domain.

I can logon as a domain user, having installed and configured PBIS-Open.

What I cant get to work is the automatic mounting of the Users Home Folder.

The SYSLOG shows the following errors:

I can open a terminal and I do have a Kerberos ticket.

Both server (a QNAP NAS) and the client use SMB3

What else can I check?

None of the articles helped at all.

The issue here is that the Zorin Client is unable to map ANY SMB shares, I am trying to connect to a QNAP NAS running SMB protocol 3, Zorin is running Protocol 3 as well.

I know that Zorin is roughly based on Ubuntu, as is MINT. The mint works perfectly. with exactly the same configuration.

The user in Zorin has a valid kerberos ticket so I know that part is working.

If I use the file manager, I can browse to the NAS, and I can access the users folder in the file manager.

Something is stopping the clients from mounting though.

I have exhausted all possible options and switched to MINT, it works out of the bag.

I notice it has a lot of 'mint' themeing and wonder if that is why Mint works out of the box because it includes obmin?

I had the same problem when I was first using Zorin OS in 2016, now I am back to using Zorin OS again lol. For some reason, Zorin refuses to mount any share on any other Linux machine. It forced me to stop using an old 64-bit single core machine as a file server. And I had to buy an external hard drive box and stick the file server drive in there. I plugged the external box into my Netgear router, and I setup Readyshare. File transfer is not as fast, even though I am running a gigabit network, but its all I can afford right now. But long story short, Zorin is able to see and mount my drive connected to my router via the network.

I think I read somewhere that there was no way of accessing /home unless the user was logged in (presumably SSH remote would work?). I think the best all-round solution is:

1. Create an NTFS partition at the end of the drive as most GNU/Linux distributions support ntfs3g these days.

2. Install Obmin - I can connect my Android Phone to the 'Data Share' folder on the NTFS partition but not sussed out what files (if any) are accessible, and in view of my concerns over microwaves and wireless I am in the process of the amount of Technology I use - it might be farewell to the PS4 as far as I am concerned too!
