System will shut shutdown. Only Reboots

Need help.

System will shut shutdown. Only Reboots when I select SHUTDOWN.

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite. Zorin OS installed alongside Win 7.

Please accept my apologies for the delay, Out of town for Christmas......it is Zorin Menu next to the padlock. Sometimes, it will not shutdown. Only reboot. If I can get my laptop to work flawlessly with the Zorin OS, I will be distributing this OS to all my PCs. Thanks.

open terminal and type

sudo shutdown -h 00

#please note it will likely ask for your password


that will shutdown for sure.. if you still have an issue it could deal with the way the bois sees it shutdown ... try disabling "auto reboot on power loss"
