(SOLVED) Synaptic Package Manager issues

Using Synaptic Package Manager, I found that it was not opening after entering my password.

Powering off and powering up again fixed that issue - then I found it would not minimise to the bottom tray - had to leave it open and use the bottom tray icons to get screens (e.g. firefox, documents) in front of it.

Any ideas of how to get back to normal service?

P.S. It is still working normally, apart from not minimising when selected to minimise.

You could try removing using the 'purge' command in a terminal then reinstall using:

Code:
sudo apt install synaptic
? ;) :D

Thanks, Swarf.

Panic over - I'd forgotten the minimised version was permanently there on the bottom bar - I'd not noticed the little dot (very subtle).
