Hi all, just wondering if anyone can help me customise my Start icon?
Have searched the forum but not had any joy with past instructions that I found.
Did a search and found a number of images called xfce4-zorinmenulite.png that I thought might be the places and tried replacing them in /usr/share/icons/hicolor etc but no joy.
Hoping someone can help - I'm trying to customise an old laptop for my son and give it a few Windows 10 touches so he doesn't feel too left behind by his more affluent friends...
Thanks

Hi, you need to 'sudo chown (your username) icons' once you have cd'd to usr | share in the terminal as it will be a protected system. Next within icons go to
Zorin | 32x32 | places - rename gnome-main-menu.png to something else and replace what you want (ensuring it is 32 x 32 pixels in size). If all else fails, install Cinnamon DE and choose a windows theme from there. You could also look for a windows icon.png on gnome-look.org. ;) :D

For my Lite install I think I used Synaptic Package Manager which you may need to install from Software. There's even a Windows 10 Plymouth theme - these can be tricky to install in a non Ubuntu based distro but you could install Plymouth manager.

Plymouth manager: https://sourceforge.net/projects/plymouthmanager/

win 10 boot splash: https://www.opendesktop.org/p/1009178/

Just found this:
