Courier mta errors

In the last few days, whenever I use terminal or Synaptic to install something, I get the following:
Code:
dpkg: error processing package courier-mta (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of courier-filter-perl:
courier-filter-perl depends on courier-mta; however:
Package courier-mta is not configured yet.

dpkg: error processing package courier-filter-perl (--configure):
dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
No apport report written because the error message indicates its a followup error from a previous failure.
                          Errors were encountered while processing:
courier-mta
courier-filter-perl

Acer Aspire ES1-512
RAM 3830
Zorin 12.4 operating alone
VGA Intel Corporation Atom Processor Z36xxx/Z37xxx Series Graphics & Display
Audio device: Intel Corporation Atom Processor Z36xxx/Z37xxx Series High Definition Audio Controller

Searching for solutions gave quite a few, none of which worked. In spite of it being a bit frustrating, several of the Terminal Run "uninstall this/install that" solutions yielded the above error repeatedly during the "fix..."
You gotta admit, that is pretty funny.
Is it terminal, doc?

Hi,

You tried to install something (the courier-pop package) and the install failed.

just my guess?
Code:
https://www.courier-mta.org/imap/INSTALL.html

Until you successfully install or remove courier-pop, your package manager will raise error messages, but will not stop other packages from being installed or removed (unless they depend on the courier-pop and courier-imap packages).

try out commands under Terminal(Ctrl+Alt+t)
Code:
sudo apt-get remove courier-pop courier-imap

Code:
sudo dpkg --purge courier-pop courier-imap

Code:
sudo apt-get install -f

Code:
sudo dpkg --configure -a

It really seems to come up whenever I install anything. That is why I took notice of it. I thought that was odd.
I wasn't really paying much attention, at first, to what it was I was trying to install that led to the errors.
I cannot think of what I would need it FOR. Hitting up arrow in Terminal, I looked through to see what I have tried to install lately. I tried installing a couple android emulators; which included sass and ruby libgdk-pixbuf2.0-dev libxml2-utils python3-gi. Also, there was aptitude, unity, fglrx,
I uninstalled and re-installed ClamAV using Synaptic around that time, not checking the mail scanning options.

Yes, the first line leads to being told that Courier pop, courier imap is not installed, so was not removed.
Then, any effort after leads to the same error.
I tried using Synaptic to install whatever was missing; leading to the same error.
After that, I went back into terminal and tried
Code:
sudo apt-get remove courier-pop courier-imap

and got:
Code:
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  courier-imap courier-imap-ssl courier-pop courier-pop-ssl
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 4 to remove and 6 not upgraded.
[b]13 not fully installed or removed.[/b]
After this operation, 906 kB disk space will be freed.

Maybe they are all related to the emulators and that is why I noticed the errors popping up so frequently as I was intent on a project.
I have abandoned the idea as none of them supported what I was trying to do: I have more than one account on Boom Beach. Anbox does not support google play which google play is required to use Boom Beach - and so on. Android SDK was, I swear, bigger than Zorin. And it is a developer package, not something simple I could put the Boom Beach .apk on and assist in Task Force Operations once per day.

Should I just remove and purge all the "Couriers" and then wait to see if the error comes up again and make note of what, exactly, I was trying to install at that moment?
EDIT:
I just went in using synaptic as a flame thrower and eliminated all courier pops, imaps, mta's... I was brutal and took no prisoners.
