Hello everybody.

I've installed Zorin OS 12.4 Lite version on my computer. I have another PC on the same network with Windows 8.1 Home and I shared files on my Windows PC but I can't see anything on the network in Zorin file explorer.
I'm new and I don't know what should I do to make it work. And I would like to share some files and a printer attached to Zorin, but I didn't find any option for that.

Please help me.

Sorry for bad English

For file sharing, a good video here:

My preferred method:

Now for accessing a printer attached to a Windows PC:

If you have a printer that does not have any drivers in Zorin, please advise what make and model of printer. ;) :D

Thanks for the reply.

But it didn't work so I have a few questions. I've installed samba, but there aren't any option in the folder properties to share files like in the first video. What should I do?

Can I share files from an NTFS partition without the method in the second video? Because I don't want to reinstall the whole system if it isn't necesarry.

And I would like to access a printer from a Windows PC, the printer is attached to Zorin OS. It's an Epson Stylus SX130 printer, I've already downloaded the right drivers from the site of Epson (http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/searc ... archModule) and the printer works well but I don't know how to share it.

OK, regarding file sharing, take a look here:

and here:

I only just spotted that you are using Windows 8 Home and like all Home products, file sharing could be an issue as its networkability is much reduced from Windows Professional Editions.

As for the printer:

Open up Printers in settings, right-click the installed printer and check the Policies settings and that 'shared' is ticked, and also check on Access Control - having issues uploading screen shots so please be patient and will try and get these uploaded in due course. ;)

Thank you very much! It worked.
I had to install system-config-samba and change the name of the workgroup on both computer. I don't know why but it didn't work with the default 'Workgroup' name.
In the LITE version of Zorin OS 12.4 the default filemanager/explorer is Thunar and it hasn't got the same options than Nautilus.
