i have recently swtiched from windows to linux, specifically this distro, and when i plug in my micro sd adapter it wont read it. i never had a problem with it and i know that both the micro sd and the adapter work perfectly. can anyone tell me how i can make it so zorin can read it? ok i ejected it from the previous computer that it was in but zorin still wont read it. i read on some forums that for other people ubuntu didnt read sd cards and i know this is relevant here as i know that zorin is based off of ubuntu.

If the card works as you say, I can only think that you did not remove the card safely from another OS, you must unmount the card like it were a drive.

Put the card back in the last PC it was in and then "Remove it Safely", this will unmount it and you can use it on another PC/OS. If you don't do this, it will lock itself to the last PC it was used in!!.
