I cannot get my HP Truevision HD built in camera to work on my Pavilion DV6 running Zorin 15 core. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have spent four hours researching this issue. It comes down to the driver for the HP TrueVision HD webcam, which is the r5u870 driver. I tried to build a kernel, change the directory, install the driver, all from terminal, and nothing has worked so far.

The problem with that link is it is for an extremely old version of ubuntu (2011 iteration). I think you are going to have a major issue with that, bearing in mind that Cyberlink software/hardware was never designed for GNU/Linux in mind - it is not a fault of GNU/Linux. All I can suggest is that you consider purchasing a USB webcam and one that is known to work in GNU/Linux. I have an old Logitech cam that works. For Linux specific you may want to consider:

Thanks for the input. I have a buddy who works at Red Hat, so we are going to try and create a fix with the driver. Thanks again!
