Hi, I need help. I downloaded Zorin OS Lite to install it on my laptop, Acer Aspire 3100 with Windows XP installed. I wanted to try to install windows 7 starter, but unfortunately this operating system, even if light, on my PC has slow problems and locks easily if you start more than 2 applications simultaneously. So I decided to install Zorin OS Lite to continue using my old laptop. Once the installation DVD was created, I started installing Zorin OS Lite, permanently deleting windows. The file deletion and installation took place without problems, however, once the installation process was finished, with subsequent restart of the PC, Zorin OS Lite does not seem to work. Once the PC has restarted, or switched off and on, your operating system does not start, the screen remains black, with no signs of errors or messages. I tried to reinstall Zorin OS Lite 2 times, but the problem persists. Why?? What should I do? Thank you very much I await news.

I forgot; If I start the operating system from DVD, without installing it, it starts. I don't understand why instead if installed it won't start!
Technical specifications:

Moble AMD Sempron 3400+ processor (1.8GHz 256KB L2 cache)
ATI Radeon Xpress 1100
80GB HDD
512MB DDR2 (which I extended up to 1GB)

NarakuITA, when you boot up,
Could you please hold the Left Shift key down the moment you see your motherboard splash screen. Keep holding it until you see a new Options screen appear. Does your Zorin Recovery option screen appear when you do that?

Sometimes the computer must run a bot after installation to configure everything.
Maybe it just needed some time.

On Zorin 12.4, it should install already configured.
If no luck, please try the instructions here:

That guide is useful if I have Wi-Fi, but if I go to "Network Connections" I only see Ethernet!
Isn't it that you didn't install the drivers for my wi-fi?

I connected the laptop with the cable. I ran the first part you asked for. Apparently the operation was successful.
I rebooted the system.
The wi-fi is still not visible.
Try running the second part, downloading the files individually.

Look, I found a forum where they said to write these commands on the terminal:
sudo apt-get purge bcmwl-kernel-source broadcom-sta-common broadcom-sta-source
sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer
sudo modprobe b43
Problem solved, now I have wi-fi!
