Desktop icons disappear

On ZorinOS 15.1 (Ultimate) Desktop icons will disappear upon the next reboot when automatically switching from dark theme to light theme. I have to manually enable them from zorin appearance menu every time. Not a big issue but a bit annoying.

I'm beginning to wonder if Gnome devs are behind this move as they want to keep the Desktop clear of clutter - this is beyond the remit of Zorin Devs as they don't control Gnome. In the meantime:

This is a quicker way than using Zorin Appearance or Gnome Tweaks. If you don't have Gnome Tweaks installed yet I would recommend you do so. ;) :D

Thanks for the heads up. I just contacted support about this :) I also use gnome tweak tool. I can either re-enable the icons from gnome tweak or from zorin appearance when this happens.

Support is composed currently of just two people. So it can take some time to get down the list.
However, you have asked on the forum, here: I do not know the cause but looking for information on a search of the net I found this page:

Just to add, having just installed Feren OS on my ladyship's rig, icons disappear but do come back and that is purely down to a very old graphics card EVGA AGP 8x 256 Mb nVidia. ;) :D

Good to know. It's just a minor issue anyway, plus there is a workaround as I mentioned.

It looks similar but I can always recover the icons using gnome tweaks unlike the guy on askubuntu.

My graphics card is GeForce GTX 1050 Ti so maybe in my case it's too new model? :D

Anyway thanks for your support guys I just reinstalled nautilus desktop as a possible solution mentioned in askubuntu. I'm not sure if that will fix the issue as this usually occurs after a reboot or when I turn on my PC. Will wait and see :)
