[SOLVEDHow to install the driver for Canon LBP6020B printer?

Hello everyone.

Please, help me to install the driver for the Canon LBP6020B printer on Zorin OS 15.1 64 bit. I can't install it through the software app. The OS has identified my printer: "LBP6020 is ready".

There's the official installation guide: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-tSjn ... JaUlIzziIU Does it have compatibility with Zorin OS 15.1 64 bit?

Hi,

I posted links to another Canon model on my pCloud account which you can download in another thread. Bear with while I find the links. ;) :D

Follow my guides linked in this post - just change the model in the tutorial for yours.

Hi. Thank you very much for helping me.

I did all that have said in the guide, but only one change has happened. When I try to print the message "Printing" appears, then "Printing completed" but nothing is printed, and my printer didn't make any sounds.

When I used GDebi, I noticed I couldn't click install, only reinstall or remove. I did both options, but it didn't work for me.

Hi I suspect it has failed because you still have part of the original driver installed. Can you remember the package names that you used in first attempt? I would open a terminal and enter:

Code:
sudo apt-get remove [name of pkg]

Alternatively:
1. Launch 'Printers' using terminal command of:

Code:
sudo system-config-printer

to get usable printer interface and remove all instances of any printers shown.

2. Launch Synaptic and search for Canon. Highlight all packages for complete removal and apply. (This will not remove the. deb files you downloaded from Canon only the files installed in the system).

Afterward in terminal

Code:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Next reboot and follow my guide once more. keep us posted. ;) :D

The same problem occurs.
And the database doesn't have the driver for my printer. It has the driver for LBP6020, but not for LBP6020B.
I deleted all the printers. While the driver installation, my printer was disabled. When the driver was installed, CUPS-BRF-Printer has appeared. Then I enabled my printer, and Zorin OS stated to recognize my printer and added it as LBP6020. Therefore, I have two added printers. Could it affect something?

No, I have that too with my Canon TS-8151. Just ensure the Canon is set as Default.

It has set as default.
Can I WhatsApp to you?

It may help to keep it in the thread as that allows many people to read and contribute.

Supposedly, these drivers are supposed to work:
https://launchpad.net/~michael-gruz/+ar ... non-stable
Ensure you install with "sudo apt-get install -y"... to get all dependencies.

Here is a guide written for Mate, however the commands really should be the same:
https://ubuntu-mate.community/t/get-you ... -64bit/999
I think you may have a pretty old printer. You deserve credit for making it last so long. ;)

Aravisan's post has just reminded me - if you launch synaptic package manager look for Canon once more - you should see a package that is a backend for Canon Laser printers. (I gave it as an example as to why Zorin should include Synaptic Package Manager in the distro in the unofficial manual I wrote.) ;) :D

That's solved my problem: https://help.ubuntu.ru/wiki/canon_capt If someone need help with translating this guide to English, I can help. Write a PM to me. I hope I get a notification through email.

Thank you for your message. I didn't notice that. I have my printer since spring 2014 :)

Hi, Glad you got sorted on this one. Haven't tried Firefox but Chrome (at work) will translate the page admirably. ;) :D
