I use Zorin OS 15.2 on my Thinkpad L490 and cannot log in with the integrated fingerprint sensor.

No option to use my fingerprint sensor for log in.

Maybe it's a driver problem, because when I go to driver, it shows me that
(it says on the picture (for person who cannot speak german):
Intel Corporation: unknown
This device don't work.
- iwlwifi driver backport in DKMS format from backport-iwlwifi-dkms will be used (Open Source)
- Keep using a manually installed driver.
- Don't use this device ):

driver problem?

My device is up to date (all updates are installed) and under Windows the fingerprint sensor work without any problems.

I hope anyone can help me.

Thank you, so it isn't possible to get the fingerprint sensor working with out any third-party program?

While this statement is true, I must point out that it is true for most of what you use. You cannot get Gimp working without a third party program, either.

On M$ Windows, the fingerprint reader is also a third party program, bundled in by M$ as part of the O.S.

Now we know the name (manufacturer) I found this (not good news I'm afraid) - just remember, hardware is made for that other OS without any regard for Linux:

The number behind the colon is a other by me, is it a other device or don't matter the number?

I looked again at that link I gave you and an updated page on the link to thinkpad forums:

You may need to look at page 23 too (which I haven't). ;)
