How to view notifications

When I wake up my laptop running Zorin 15 I frequently have notifications on the screen i.e. You have 1 backup notification, you have 2 file notifications.
These appear before before I log back in and there is nothing I can to to open them and I can't figure out where they may be stored.

Any Ideas????

If you open the clock on the equivalent of the system tray, the calendar appears and notifications are to the left of the calendar, most recent at the top.
