Can you shield the users from the settings in a school environment?
Children like to mess around with the settings of the operating system.

I would advise sending a PM to albano and/or AlbertoBN. ;) :D

albano volunteered in his high school in Vicenza - what was an IT lab upgrade without recourse to M$ and now the whole Public Service of Vicenza is using it. :D :D :D

AlbertoBN succesfully installed Zorin education in a school in Israel - and it is spreading fast! :D :D :D

Also take a look at this old how-to (Zorin 7 Lite in this instance);

Hi,
1)to decrease the privileges, it would be enough to make two accounts one of administrator (root) and the other limited.
The guys would not have the possibility to change the settings for example of the connection, etc. etc.
2)use alacarte to hide some menu items such as setting or other.
You can restore it whenever you want ... will not be visible to the students.
I advise you first to make a finished ISO and then to install them on the machines.
These are some easy ways for what you asked.
Thanks to Swarfendor437 for his fantastic work!
Regards,
Albano

Hi Hensyr, Forgot to mention that the Zorin grid is due for release this month I believe - that will enable control of all desktops from one machine:

Hey, Hensyr - I am not on top of my game at the moment - all Education editions come with Veyon
(https://veyon.io/) formerly ITALC - Teachers can freeze student's computers to get them back on track - and make sure they are following the lesson! ;) :D

Hi Hensyr,

There is one more recommendation that I suggested to Team Zorin - Ordinary Firefox (well in Windows) cannot be locked down - so if not present I would advise Firefox ESR (Extended Service Release) - this is the version of Firefox that can be locked down.

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/a ... esktop-esr - let's you choose Linux platform download.
