Try this.
First install the latest java plugin for firefox like follows:
Download the self extracting file:
http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp?locale=enand follow the instructions
http://java.com/en/download/help/linux_ ... extracting and
http://java.com/en/download/help/linux_ ... xml#enable(It's not dificult and since I managed to do it, everyone can...
)
Then open firefox, go to youtube and open the specific video that you want to download.
When the video starts playing, go to the address bar and add the word "keep" just before the word "youtube".
Example:
http://www.
keepyoutube.com/watch?v=AkuuX9dYfz0
and hit enter.
A new website will open (called keep-tube). A pop-up will appear (saying something about java security), tick the box that says "always trust this webpage" and then click "run". (the next time, this pop-up window will not appear).
As soon as you do this, scroll down just before the bottom of the page and you will see the download options. i.e. choose what will be the type of the download file - flv or mp4 or HD etc.
Click on an option, a pop-up window will open, choose "save" and your download will start.
It is very easy. I have just tried it many times and works like a charm.
