Hi, I am a newbie to linux. Tried to revive an old windows xp pc with 1GB RAM with Intel Celeron D 331 2.66GHz processor. I narrowed down to Zorin OS Lite version 64bit. The OS is installed. Also installed samba so it will show up on the other Windows 10 PC on the LAN.
I am able to see the Windows 10 PC on the Zorin-->File Manager --> Browse Network.
But when I double click the Windows 10 PC to get to the shared folders, I get the error "Failed to open "pc-hostname". Failed to retrieve share list from server: Connection refused"

But from the Windows PC I don't see this ZorinOS PC at all.

Kindly guide on how I could access the files from both the sides

All help appreciated.
Thanks much
Bimal

The best way forward might be to setup a data partition formatted to NTFS, create a Zorin folder on there, inside of which you could copy your current /home folder into then create links inside of your Linux /home folders to the new location.

Linux can read NTFS partitions natively as it comes with ntfs3g.
