Apps not seeing second hard drive

As a long time Windows user, I am just learning the OS level of Zorin. I have a second hard drive in my Lenovo laptop that I want to store data on. The drive has been formatted and is set to automount. I see the icon on the desktop and can copy files to it. I can also open those files by double clicking on them. What I can't figure out how to do is get my applications to see the drive. When I try to open file, the 2nd hard drive isn't listed. I using 15.2 Core. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Can't see how you could do this but would advise moving your /home to the second drive:
