Questions about energy manager

Hi everyone, I have two questions:

1) is it possible to set something like "battery saver" in Windows? so that the battery lasts longer?
2) I'd like zorin to make a sound when the battery is low, not just a pop up/notification, is it possible

browsing the energy manager I only have the possibillity to choose "turn off/sleep/ask me" when the battery is low

thank you

thank you but it does not seem it does what I said
Extension to show remaining time and percentage for battery near the icon on the top panel. If the AC is plugged it shows the time remaining to full charge. There are some options: disable the icon, disable percentage, disable the time, disable the arrow up when charging, disable at all when charging, disable at all when full. Have a look at README for instructions.

Zorin already shows those things

I use TLP, which Zorin includes in all their builds, anyway. I think it is interesting to note that Zorin already carries much of what you are looking for. ;)

You can also try slimbook
Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:slimbook/slimbook

Code:
sudo apt-get update

Code:
sudo apt-get install slimbookbattery

You need to add the application to your Start ups to make sure it runs automatically.

These are options. But bear in mind, Zorin is not the extensive Resource hog that Windows is. Zorin runs, even with Core, at a much lower energy signiture than Win10 and while a Win10 machine well could use a battery Saver, it is less essential on Linux, though it could still be handy, adding even more longevity to your battery drain time than the other O.S.

As for a sound, I am not sure if this one has that option; I never used it:
https://github.com/maateen/battery-monitor

To get a sound, this solution offers a Simple Script that can be used to create a custom alert with sound:

https://unix.stackexchange.com/question ... linux-mint

I have not found an easy-add app for that, in searching. But maybe we can make one, given the scripts involved are only a few lines of very basic code.

Thank you very much, I’ll look for TLP
