ufw settings for VLC 3.0

I am hoping to stream content from VLC 3.0 to my Panasonic smart TV.

I have read how to set up VLC to achieve this, but do I have to add permissions to ufw - similar to what I had to do for Plex Media Centre?

- if so what?

Thanks in advance

Sadly, it appears so:

In case your are using firewall such as the firewalld make sure that the port is opened to receive an incoming traffic.

It links to a guide but this one here seems more readable:

Sorry Swarf,

I posted originally in help and support and then thought that it should be in How tos and tutorials - finger trouble meant that I never got there. Also, I'm not sure if you can delete a post once entered.

I will post in how tos and tutorials when I find something that works.
