Can I update it to 3.2or3.3 but stay with Zorin W7 desktop?

I have Zorin OS 5.2 on Kernel 2.6. Can I update it to 3.2 or 3.3 but stay with Zorin W7 desktop and all settinngs?

The latest kernel for Zorin 5.2 is 2.6.38-13.

Gnome 3 will be used in Zorin 6.

There is probably a way to do the kernel update (http://www.kernel.org/) and if I remember well someone in this forum had tried it but with not so good results.
