As one of those ppl that Build the Multimedia systems (IsraelRemixTeam) - and support them on other Distros,
Let me Give you all some TIPS with that part.
First I will add the Medibuntu to your repo source.list with the following command:
- Code:
sudo -E wget --output-document=/etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list http://www.medibuntu.org/sources.list.d/$(lsb_release -cs).list && sudo apt-get --quiet update && sudo apt-get --yes --quiet --allow-unauthenticated install medibuntu-keyring && sudo apt-get --quiet update
Then:
- Code:
sudo apt-get install app-install-data-medibuntu apport-hooks-medibuntu
That will bring the w32codecs/64codecs + DVD support to your package manager.
Now for the real How to look for your packages to install on the system.
Here are some WORDS to use in synaptic when you search for your Support in Multimedia.
open synaptic and use one After one (After you have install from that page all the packages).
1- Gstreamer.
2 -avif = Avi Files.

Under those words,
you will find all the packages that you all need to install on your system to get all to work for you.
