Hi guys I have another problem ye I know a pain but thought I'd do a screencast of my setup for voip great idea I thought but all my ogg/ogv screencasts new ones and previous ffrom the last five years are all pixelated any ideas as to why this is?
I've checked for codec and theora is installed so is ffmpeg and mencoder gstreamer etc now all other vids wma, mpg, avi, flv wmv, all play ok
as I'going through all my videos I'm finding that not all ogg/ogv are pixelated and the one that are shouldn't be.

Any ideas on this one

this might shed some light on the subject the problem seems to be media player as the pixelated vids play fine in vlc

Hi,

install these packages:

non-free-codecs
w32codecs

Either in a terminal with:

sudo apt-get install non-free-codecs w32codecs

or via Synaptic.

You must have the medibuntu repo installed:

Tried every codec I can think of and installled it still no joy not that they would make a difference as it is ogg/ogv in movieplayer that is the problen with ogg/ogv even got mencoder and ffmpeg in to recode if neccessary.

you have more tools for converting files.

Like - soundconvert/soundKonvert /ogg convert.
you did good on the search of files in synaptic - just did not cover them all for Multimedia support.

Look in ffmpeg and see if php5-ffmpeg install there.
I have send the Admins here the full Multimedia support for the system - (for the Multimedia System of zorin 6).
There are alot of missing packages in Advance on the system.

Like:
W32/W64 codecs.
ffmpeg full support.
cam.
caps.
mpg
mpeg
xmms
asf

in convert +compress you will find all you need to support the burn process.

hope that will help you with the convert process.

cheers will do. Not sure why media player is having problems playing ogg/ogv files theora codecs are installed. VLC they play fine no problems maybe it not a codec but, an issue with media player.
