Heroes of newerth

I don't know if this is the right place to make this topic, but anyways.

I installed Heroes of Newerth on my Zorin OS, but when i go into the game it starts tearing in the graphics and the computer freezes. This shouldn't happen to my computer since my specs are:

2x 1 GB Ati 5770 Graphics card
4 GB DDR3 RAM
AMD Phenom || 3.4 GHz Processor

I use the free version of the OS, don't know if this has anything to do with it.

Also I read here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1836863 that you should not install it as root.

There is also the possibility that the download file might be corrupted. You could try downloading it again.
Finally you should check that your GPU driver is the correct one. Have you checked in additional drivers to see if there is any recomended driver available? If yes, you could try enabling it and test the game again.

make sure that your system completely up-to-date is:

And just in case:

The command dist-upgrade in most cases is very important as it update the dependencies too!!!.
