Can't print to shared printer

I've been trying all night but I've not been successful in being able to print from my computer to my brother's printer.

My computer is running Zorin OS 5 Core. The computer that the printer is connected to is my brother's which has Windows Vista.

I'm getting this error when trying to print:
"Unable to connect to CIFS host".

I don't know where to proceed from here. How do I get my system to print to my bro's printer?

Is it a wifi printer? How is your pc connected to your brother's printer?

Hi,

also which type of printer (make), there are a few how-to's which you can browse through:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Netwo ... WithUbuntu

If you have an HP printer, install the package "hplip-gui" which has a very good GUI in Linux!!.

The printer is connected to my brothers computer via usb. It's not a wifi printer.

Hi,

did you install the package "hplip-gui" and if you did, is your printer listed??. (Use the HPlip Toolbox GUI for this, it is under Applications > System Tools > Preferences)
